Fibromyalgia (FM) is a common chronic pain condition, affecting 2-4% of the population.2,16 FM is characterized by widespread pain and is often accompanied by a cluster of co-occurring symptoms, including sleep problems, depression, cognitive dysfunction (i.e., fibro-fog), and fatigue.16 While FM is best managed with a combination of pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions (e.g., exercise, self-management skills, acupuncture),16 many non-pharmacological interventions remain poorly covered by insurance,5 leaving people with FM to rely mainly on insurance-covered medications.
